Inaudible Versification

Stand Up. Be Counted.

I think we must stand up and applaud the thousands of Zimbabwe voters that went out today to vote, even when they had no way of knowing whether their vote would be counted or whether they would be able to vote without intimidation or violence today. Whether they voted for Zanu-PF or the MDC, the important thing to note is, that at least they got up and voted.

Which is why it is time we South Africans took a long, good look at ourselves. Even though we knew that our votes would count, that we could make our mark without intimidation or violence, the voter turn out for last years election was disappointing to say the least.

Now I know it is ones right not to want to go and vote, if you feel like it, but really when one considers what people, like our former president, had to go through to get us to this point, shouldn't we all rather lift our lazy backsides at the next election and vote?

I mean if there is still MDC supports in Zimbabwe, that against all odds of them winning, went out there and stood in the rain to vote, doesn't that make the old excuses from minority party supporters in South Africa seem just a tad bit ridicules?

"Oh no we're not going to vote because it won't make a difference anyway" Is the line that South Africans love to use for not showing up at a polling station.

I believe that if a MDC supporter can stand in a queue for hours believing his or her one vote can make a difference, why can't a DA or even ID supporter do the same?

Which is why I'd like to leave my South African readers with this final thought. "If you want to complain about the way things are in this country and you want it to change, "THEN GET OFF YOUR OVER GROWN BACKSIDES AT THAT NEXT ELECTION AND VOTE!"

Bad Girl

"You've been a bad girl" MacDara kept telling me, and he didn't mean it in a kinky/erotic I-want-to-lick-chocolate-sauce-off-you way either. No he was revering to the horrible thing I had done to something so close to my heart. That THING that called out to me in my dreams and beg me to come save it from the darkness.

What you may ask is this horrible sin that I've committed? Yes it true. The rumors are true. I left my blog baby alone in cyberspace, while I went out and partied at college like a bad adolescent mother. *SNIFF*

OK, that was a bit over the top, but I blame it on those cooky drama students I've been hanging out with on campus lately. If your around them long enough their surreal nature tends to rub off on one.

The blame though for the site not being updated is all mine and mine alone. But I intend on doing penance for my pass digressions by correting my mistake as best I can.

Time to get things back in working order around here starting right, NOW!
